Psychological services are not covered by OHIP. Most workplaces have insurance that will cover psychological services. All clients that receive services performed by Mindframe Psychology Centre are provided with a receipt for insurance purposes. Clients may also be able to claim psychological services on their income tax.

Hourly fees for psychological treatment will be discussed with all clients prior to the first appointment. In addition, all assessment fees are also discussed prior to initiating any assessment.

According to the College of Psychologists of Ontario website (www.cpo.on.ca)

A registered psychologist is a “regulated professional” and is “required by law to deliver professional services competently and ethically.” Registered psychologists are “accountable to the public, through their professional regulatory body, for their professional behaviour and activities.”

Psychologists “meet rigorous professional entry requirements, adhere to prescribed standards, guidelines and ethical principles and participate in quality assurance activities to continually update and improve their knowledge and skills.”

“The College has no authority over unregulated service providers. There is no regulatory body with the legal authority to set minimum levels of education, training and competence or to establish and monitor professional and ethical standards of conduct. There is no professional regulatory body responsible to protect your interests and hold unregulated providers accountable for the services you receive.”

A client’s privacy is of the utmost importance to us. The privacy of all communications between a client and a psychologist is confidential, and we can only release information about our work to others with a client’s written permission. However, there are a few limits to confidentiality which will be discussed with all clients at the first session.
