About WSIB Psychology

Psychological injuries and workplace trauma.

Workplace injuries are not always physical. Many workers develop significant psychological difficulties following an occupational injury, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, sleep disturbance, and loss of confidence. These psychological impacts can be as debilitating as the physical injury itself and deserve the same quality of professional care.

Our registered clinicians have extensive experience supporting clients involved in WSIB claims, providing evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy that addresses both the emotional impact of injury and the practical demands of the recovery and return-to-work process.

Our Approach

Evidence-based treatment approaches.

Our registered clinicians draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-based approaches. Treatment is tailored to each client's specific injury context, psychological presentation, and WSIB treatment goals, and we produce the required documentation for the WSIB throughout the process.

Return-to-Work

Return-to-work support.

Returning to work after an injury can be psychologically challenging, even when the physical recovery is progressing well. Our registered clinicians work with clients to address the anxiety, avoidance, and loss of confidence that often accompany the return-to-work process, and coordinate with WSIB case managers and other treating practitioners to ensure care is well integrated.
